Hi

We are testing a new hybrid app based on Ionic (Cordova) that uses PDFTron WebViewer now the problem we are facing is that the search as implemented in the demo file for cordova "WebViewer/samples/cordova/www/index.html" doesn't work when running in an iOS device (tested on an iPhone running iOS 7.0 and an iPad running iOS 8.0).
Is there any know workaround or do we have to change the implementation for it to work?

Thank in advance for any hints.
Regards
Vlad

Hi Vlad,

When you say that search doesn't work what do you mean exactly?

The issue seems to be resolved in iOS 8 however I'm not sure if Cordova is using WKWebView (which has the fix) as there were some iOS bugs that caused issues with it. Can you try using WKWebView and see if that helps with the problem.

Let me know if you're running into a different issue.

Hi Matt,

That seems to be some variant of that problem, when tapping in the search icon the keyboard shows up and I can't type anything in the input filed.
There's a plugin for Cordova to use WKWebView but that will only help with devices running iOS8, leaving older devices unsupported.
I was testing pdf.js on the same iPad and they seem to have solved that issue since the search field in their viewer doesn't show that problem.
We'll try to see how they managed to get it working.

Regards
Vlad
