RichmediaCreate posting a video in PDF does not playback in anything other than PDFNet viewer

I have take the richmedia tutorial that was listed in another question and attempted to have the embedded video play back in Adobe, or some other compliant renderer but it only is playable through the PDFNet library. Is embedded video and audio supported on viewers other than the PDFNet technology?
