Getting bad license key error with PDFNetPython.PDFNet.Initialize(LICENSE_KEY)

Trying to pass my license key into PDFNet.Initalize causes the following error

Exception: Bad License Key. PDFNet SDK will work in the demo mode. For more

I am using Python in a Linux VM on OSX
