Q:

Is PDFNet SDK 508-compliant?

A:

PDFNet SDK is not an end-user software application with a client interface, but a software development toolkit (SDK) based on which applications can be built.  As such, PDFNet SDK can be used to develop/create software applications that meet accessibility requirements compliant with the PDF standard, however, the development of the applications, and thus compliance with Section 508, is in the Licensee’s control. Based on this, it is not possible to complete a VPAT, as the VPAT categories/items do not apply in the case of an SDK (toolkit/library). As stated on VPAT website, it is recommended for the Licensee to perform its due diligence in assessing that the licensed product meets all the Licensee’s accessibility requirements.
