New issue 1589 by chrismer...@gmail.com: Specific PDF takes time to load in Chrome
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/pdfium/issues/detail?id=1589

Hi team,

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open attached PDF in Adober Reader and observe that it opens quickly
2.Then open it in Chrome (using right click from Windows Explorer->Open with->Google Chrome) and observe that it takes ten times longer.

Same problem using PDFium SDK.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Google Chrome Version 85.0.4183.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 10 64-bit

Regards,
Christophe

Also noticed the scrollbar is experiencing significant lag, and zooming actions are delayed due to the slow rendering. (Tested on chromeOS 85.0.4183.84)

The slowdown is in AGG. Rendering with Skia is roughly 4 times faster.

It positioned every letter individually on the page (with all settings (fonts position etc) individually) I have attached the decompressed version.

Document created by iTextSharp’ 5.5.13.1 ©2000-2019 iText Group NV (AGPL-version)
The Documents shows in Firefox (81.0.2 (64-bits)) slowly too, but you can see it draw the individual letters instead of giving the user the 'hang' experience.
Sumatra (3.1.2 64bit) does not have a marked delay (I get the impression it is even faster than Acrobat)

Could the original poster give information on how this document was created?
Not to divert blame from this project, but I think the interesting decision that ended up with this document should be addressed.
