Q: I was wondering what the difference was between CommandLine and SDK
versions of PDF2Text (
http://www.pdftron.com/pdf2text/
)?
--------------
A: The SDK is more suitable for integration with existing applications
and multi-threaded systems. Command-Line is suitable to scripting,
batch processing and simple shell based systems.
PDFTron also offers PDFNet SDK (
http://www.pdftron.com/pdfnet/
) which
includes all functionality of PDF2Text plus much more (http://
www.pdftron.com/pdfnet/features.html
). The relevant sample project for
use with PDFNet SDK would be the TextExtract sample (http://
www.pdftron.com/pdfnet/samplecode.html#TextExtract
).
