We create jewelry and decorative art pieces that are truly UNIQUE,
here in the center of Vermont USA. All art pieces are engraved
freehand. The images created are inspired by nature and like nature
each and every piece is original. This art is rare and limited. You
may have seen Titanium Art before but not like ours - ours is
unequaled! After ten years of experimenting and developing this art,
we continue to unveil its beauty and discover new dimensions.
What is titanium art?
Close your eyes and imagine a beautiful landscape. Mountains, a lake
in the distance, and the moon rising in a clouded sky. Transfer this
image on to a bracelet or a pair of earrings and you have jewelry that
resembles ours. Our jewelry and decorative art pieces look like
beautiful mini paintings!
How is it made?
We have been developing this art form for over ten years now and we
use many different skills in both metal work and art medium to create
our unique line of jewelry and decorative art pieces. First the metal
is cut and shaped and made smooth by grinding. Next the metal is
colored by a process called anodization using a machine that we
designed and made. In anodizing the thin transparent surface of the
titanium metal is encouraged to grow thus reflecting light differently
and producing different colors. The colors produced are optical. There
are no pigments, only light waves bouncing off the surface of the
metal through a clear oxide film. The colors are similar to those when
oil and water mix. A thin oxide layer on the surface of the metal
controls the titanium colors. The colors are permanent and will not
fade or tarnish. Then we engrave freehand using high speed tools with
diamond bits as well as using hand engraving tools for fine details.
Engraving in the metal takes away color so that we anodize repeatedly
after each engraving producing many layers of colors and textures
until the design is completed. Finally each piece is signed on the
back by the artist.
What are some of the designs?
All of our designs are inspired by nature. They include but are not
limited to: trees, moon, water, landscapes, animals, fish and flowers.
We presently make: earrings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, pins,
barrettes, wall hangings, and boxes. Custom orders are welcome!
