This second edition replaces the first edition compiled and published in
1923. A fascinating compilation of various routes at sea, including
Steamship Routes, Sailing Ship Routes and more. Book is divided into four
general sections:
Section A contains a general statement respecting the wind and current
circulations, the weather, and ice conditions throughout the world,
together with a brief discussion on their causes.
Section B is divided into four parts, each dealing with the winds and
weather, currents and ice and the steamship routes in oceans and seas as
follows: Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean and Black seas, Red Sea, Indian
Ocean and Persian Gulf, and Pacific Ocean.
Section C has three parts, devoted exclusively to sailingship routes of
the world. Areas covered include Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea;
Indian Ocean, Eastern arachipelago and Red Sea, and Pacific Ocean.
Section D contains notes and cautions on Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean
Sea; Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf and Easter archipelago, and Pacific Ocean.
