(Nister, Ernest illust.) Good: brittle, chips. Twenty-four loose
chromolitographic plates from the book "Hide and Seek / Pictures and
Fun for Everyone". Illustrations include children, farm and zoo animals,
cats and dogs, babies, kitchen instruments, fruit, vegetables and
toys. In addition to these still-bright chromolithographs, many black
and white illustrations on similar themes are present. Some few
illustrations hand colored with love by someone's great grandparents;
some illustrations surrounded by chips; all chromolithographic
illustrations whole and suitable for framing. Ernest Nister is known
for his pioneering pop-up and movable books but his illustrations
'stand up' on their own. $47.50
