Evangeline Adams was a pioneer professional astrologer to the rich
and famous who predicted the destruction of the Windsor Hotel in 1899,
an event reported in the New York newspapers which made her famous
overnight. She wrote 4 books, which were among the most popular
astrology books ever published at the time.
.
1. Evangeline Adams, Astrology, Your Place in the Sun, 1928, hardback,
She explains her view of all the planets (except Pluto, which was not
discovered until 1930), all the signs, the significance of the rising
sign and has a separate chapter on Horary questions. Also has a
chapter on casting a birth chart by hand and has a table of
ascendants. 343 pages. Very good condition, dark blue cover with
gold lettering. $35

2. Evangeline Adams, The Bowl of Heaven, 1995 paperback reprint of
1926 book. A good companion piece to the above, she discusses her
work and gives examples of her cases, Very good condition. 275
pages. Larger print than the above. Paid $18, sell for $9.

Alexander Volguine, one of France's two most famous astrologers, wrote
several books with totally new and original theories. He founded
France's Astrological Journal and was it's editor for many years,
providing a forum for astrological research.

3. Alexander Volguine, The Ruler of the Nativity, 1973, hardback,
very good condition, has dust jacket, first published in French,
date unknown but table in book uses dates in 1958. In this book
Volguine gives a treatise on the Almuten, which he says is the
strongest planet in the birth chart, far more important than the
ruler of the ascendant. Gives tables for it's calculation and
explains how it is responsible for some of his greatest successes
in chart interpretation. 152 pages. $15.

4. Alexander Volguine, Lunar Astrology, 1974 English edition, first
published in French in 1936. In this book he describes the 28
Lunar Mansions (somewhat equivalent to the Hindu Nakshatras)
and the 28 Lunar Houses (corresponding to the Hindu Tithis), and
includes information from Hindu, Chinese, Arabian
astrology as well as from the Hebrew Kabbala that applies to
lunar astrology. An important work, unique in it's field. Very good
condition, has dust jacket, 128 pages. $15.

Cheiro was Count Louis Hamon, a Norman nobleman whose ancestry went
back to the Norman French. He took the name Cheiro in his
professional life. He was a famous seer who wrote many books
on palmistry and numerology, although he was knowledgeable in
astrology also and used all three in his consulting work. He
predicted the date of Queen Victoria's death, the year and month
when King Edward VII would die, the year of Lord Kitchener's
death and the form it would take, and many other events.

5. Cheiro's Book of Numbers, hardback with dust jacket, has blank
space next to copyright info where date should be. It says it is
the 8th printing, London, of the revised ed. Latest US president
discussed is Herbert Hoover. Good condition but has some
sentences highlighted. Covers all the numbers, horse racing, colors
and numbers, lucky days, places, numbers in the Bible, etc. Easy to
understand but with many details not found in modern numerology books.
188 pages. $25.
