This group aims to promote the use of Personal Digital Assistants
(PDAs) in the Clinical workspace. PDAs have revolutionized the way with
which Medicine is practiced in developed countries. Surprisingly, not
many Indian doctors are aware of the power of these palm computers and
the enormous benefit they confer to their private practice as well as
to the nation's healthcare system. From mobile CMEs to drug indices to
medical calculations to communication and administrative work - PDAs
form an integral part of every speciality of Medicine. It is a
revolutionary system that decimates the esoterisim of the olden days
Medicine. PDAs can greatly empower rural healthcare systems also.

Cost as an impediment to PDA use is no longer an excuse. I have
experimented with some new, cheap and efficient systems which are
extremely affordable. The problem is lack of awareness. This group will
aim to dispel the myths and ignorance about PDAs.

Having experimented various types of PDAs (Palm, Pocket Pc, etc.) and
Medical Software applications both in the USA and in India, for many
years, I have created this group to serve as a resource center for
interested Physicians, Dentists, Medical/Dental Students, Nurses,
Physiotherapists and other Health Care workers.

Feel free to post your questions, views, experiences and advice
regarding PDA use in everyday practice. Together, we can start a PDA
revolution in Medicine.
