CEO's are making at least 280 times the median wage of workers as of 2011 - the widest gap in the world by the way. Given that, the corporate world and their paid lobbyists and unregulated front groups are spending unknown millions or billions to prevent an SEC regulation requiring the release of corporate pay compared the average of their workers to be published annually.

The SEC has
proposed regulations that would require corporations to disclose CEO-to-media
worker pay ratios. Corporations are shocked because the rule is surprisingly
strong -- it doesn't allow many of the usual gimmicks that corporations use to
skew data. This new rule could set off a revolution at Walmart and other
companies that are getting rich off of underpaid staff.
And now corporations are lobbying furiously to
undermine the new regulations. The SEC needs to hear that the public wants
