I have gradually taken on the current responsibilities of New Jersey Chair of the Progressive Democrats of America from the dedicated, hardworking and very talented Joanne O'Neill who stepped down partly for health reasons and partly to take on responsibilities with Rocky Anderson's Justice Party.

Since December 2012, we have delivered each month to all of our New Jersey Senators and Congressmen a letter specifying the bills we want supported, opposed, or co-sponsored. Then followed up with phone calls. We need all of you to either phone or deliver letters as well as take part in other actions to educate Congress and our neighbors on our issues.

Right now, we are working urgently to stop passage of the Trans Pacific Partnership legislation which would give international corporations and their lawyers the ability to invalidate or change local laws, protections on the environment and safe drinking water and a host of other laws and regulation at national, state and local level. We need your help!

As you know from the many national PDA e-mails, PDA continues to be, at least in my perception, the one political organization that fights tirelessly for every national progressive issue. These active issue groups meet regularly via national conference calls. We use an inside/outside strategy to move the national democratic party to the left or to our issues.

The seven issues are: End Wars and Occupations, Economic and Social Justice, End Corporate Rule, Stop Global Warming/Environment, Health Care for all/Single Payer, Clean Fair Transparent Elections, Equal Rights for All.
