the installer has insificient prileges..............

I tried to install two programs, one from General Motors and one from
Garmin. I can download the Garmin one with no issues, but when I go to
install it, it starts to install then I get a message box saying "the
installer has insuficient privleges to access this directory C:
\program data\microsoft\start menu\programs\garmin. The installation
can not continue". I tried saving the file and running as
administrator with the same results. The program from GM does not give
me the option to save it, when the icon is clicked to install, it
proceeds om its own with the same result. I'm using win7professional
64 bit. Thanks.

What's the hardware or brand name and model # of pc here?

It is a Dell 541s desktop.

Ise a program called take ownership and used it on the program data
folder, program files folder and the program files x86 folder.
Something with win7 professional 64 bit and GM and Garmin installers?
I reverted back to IE8 from IE9 since the rest of GMs programs are not
set up for IE9 just yet. Fsault Microsoft update? Both the GM and
Garmin progams installed without any issues on my xp Asus netbook.
