I'm getting this message box on most websites I go to. Ebay, car forums, etc. It says" an add--on for this website failed to run. check the security settings in internet explorer for potential conflicts". It doesn't affect anything and I just close it, but it is annoying. What do I need to change? I've looked through IE and can't see anything that looks out of line.

Did you try running IE with extensions disabled (aka safe mode)?

I went into IE>tools>manage add-ons and disabled all of them except for the 2 Java ones and I still get the little message box. Do I need to reboot in safe mode to access IE safe mode?

Don't know the source of the problem, but I suspect the only way you're going to know for sure is if you disable ALL add-ons.

Am I thinking this all wrong? When the message box says "an add-on failed to run", wouldn't I want to enable the add-ons instead of disabling them?
