Question to the Dragon Naturally Speaking experts:

I am interested in acquiring a personal edition of Dragon but wanted to know if I will have the ability to build a custom dictionary for words the system does not recognize.  I see there are several personal versions and most of the added features are not really necessary for my purposes but the dictionary is key.  So I am wondering if there is a version I should avoid because the dictionary is not included?

Thanks!

JD,

TO the best of my knowledge, you shouldn't have a problem with a "dictionary" in any version.  All current versions allow for correction and the addition of new words. In other words, the software can be "trained." Note: this is a 1:1 mapping between spoke word and transcription.  If you want more, you'll have to look at Premium and up.  If this is all you want, Home should work.

You mentioned "person edition" -- I don't believe that's the current nomenclature.  Currently: Home, Premium, Professional.

David,

Thank you and yes, I was referring to the Home edition....

Take care,
