Fruit & Vegetable Carving Competition on 31/01/2017

THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. This event is open to all registered contestants. No professional experience is required.

2. All contestants are required to produce two sculptures that are made entirely of fruits

and/or vegetables. No flowers other than those sculpted of fruits/vegetables.

3. The contestant will have one hour to complete the piece for judging.

4. All pieces are to be made of entirely edible food. No plastic supports in frames.

5. Added colors are acceptable.

6. Extra emphasis will be placed on the use of the natural shapes and colors of the

fruit/vegetables and how they are used to support and enhance each other.

7. All tools including hand tools like chisels, knives, saws, drills, angle cutters, shaped

cutters, power drimmels, other power tools like squares, levels are acceptable.

8. Number of participants per team will be maximum 2.

9. Participants should report 15 minutes prior to the start of the event

10. Date of Competition is 31/01/2017

11. Judging will be based on a matrix that will consist of:

General Presentation

Artistic Ability of Contestant

Balance

Colors

Sensibility of Presentation

Precision of Cutting and Trimming

Use of Varied Techniques
