Most motherboards with SATA also includes one of the older PATA ports,
where you can attach up to two devices. Additionally to that, a floppy
port is also included. PATA ports are also identified as IDE/ATA,
which is what you can use to cross reference with the specs of the
motherboards.
Please note that older OS's, don't come with ability to boot up or
even install the OS to a SATA drive. Some even lack the SATA drivers
to be able to access SATA devices. Some motherboards come with a build
in BIOS that allows the SATA to emulate a PATA driver, which may
circumvent the ability to access SATA, but may or may not allow you to
install the OS.
