After getting a checksum error, I decided to change the CMOS battery
in my PC which is an old Celeron 700. I had bought and replace a new
CMOS battery (size of a ten-cent coin) and did the time, date and year
setting in BIOS. However each time I power off the PC and do a
restart, I still get this nagging checksum error and will have to
reset the date, time and year all over again. I have done this a
couple of times with the same recurring message.....even replaced a
few new CMOS battery but to no avail.

Could someone help point out what the problem seems to be?

Thanks

Does the error occur during the bios phase of the startup or does it
occur in windows?
