Hello everyone!

I am happy to announce the release of 10.45-RC1.

https://github.com/PCRE2Project/pcre2/releases

This is a comparatively large release, incorporating new features, some bugfixes, and a few changes with slight backwards compatibility implications. Please see the NEWS file for further details: https://github.com/PCRE2Project/pcre2/blob/pcre2-10.45-RC1/NEWS

This is a Release Candidate that is being made available for testing. We would encourage all downstream users to test the release in development or "bleeding edge" builds, if possible, but recommend against deploying it in production.

The final 10.45 release will have as few changes as possible from this release candidate. The 10.45 release will occur no earlier than 1 Feb, but the date will depend on the feedback received.

This release is the first to be available as a (signed) Git tag, or alternatively as a (signed) tarball of the Git tag.

This is also the first release to be made by the new maintainers of PCRE2, and I would like to thank Philip Hazel, creator and maintainer of PCRE and PCRE2.

I wish you all a happy Christmas (or "festive season") holiday.

All the best,
Nick Wilson

Congratulations Nick and everbody else who has been involved in this release. I am very happy to see the PCRE2 project steaming ahead under new management.
