I don't know what's gone wrong here, but have you tried copying the link into a browser instead of clicking on it?
Regards,
Philip

I do not know whether it is me, but all these links bring 10.42, not 10.44.

It is possible that somebody else have noticed it before me and I have just missed the communication!

Could somebody please point me to the correct links.

Thank you

When I hover my mouse over the html links in the original email from
Phillip on Friday, Jun 7, I also see the 10.42 links. The 10.44 urls
shown below look Ok in plaintext.

Maybe you should disable html during email composition. GMail makes
you do it on a per-email basis (there is no global setting). You have
to click the three dots at the bottom of the editor window, and then
select plain text mode.

I think I sent that email from the google groups web page rather than gmail. I must have copied and pasted from a previous message and then edited the result, not realizing that there was html magic going on (or rather, not going on) in the background. Thanks for the tip about non-html in gmail.

Regards,
Philip

EITHER:
Copy the *text* of the link into your brower instead of clicking on it.
OR:
Go to github.com/PCRE2project/pcre2, click on "releases" and download from there.
