NATIONAL DEBATE ON: SCRAPPING INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (I.A.S) AND STARTING INDIAN EDUCATION SERVICES (I.E.S)

PUNJAB COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION

Punjab commerce and management association (PCMA) initiate debate on
the issue of Scrapping Indian Administrative Services (I.A.S) system
and starting new system of adminstrative services which are
Specialisation based.

In the National Conference on "Emerging Paradigm in Commerce and
Management Education. It was a feeling of the participants that
because present system of administrative services is general education
based and mostly the I.A.S officers has negative attitude towards the
particular problems of different professions because they do not such
type of orientation.

There is a feeling that instead of having IAS cadre there should be
specialised services cadres for example: for Education there should be
Indian Education Services (I.E.S) and for Medical services there
should be (Indian Medical Services( IMS) similarly for other
professions. Secretaries of the state governmens and Central
government dealing with various departments should be appointed from
these specialised services.

The House is open for Debate:

Should Indian Adminstrative Services (I.A.S) be Scrapped and
Specialised Adminstrative Services be started ?
