Hello all. Please find images of the Super Randonneur Jerseys posted
at the bottom of the PCH Randos Google group home page. They will be
available in short sleeve and long sleeve versions as shown, in race,
club or women's cut. The sizing charts are at the bottom of this
post.

Cost will be $70 for the short sleeve, and $80 for the long sleeve.
To be eligible you will need to have done at least one of the 300K,
400K, or 600K PCH Randos Brevets, and of course completed a full
series. If you are missing one or more of the brevets, but are
planning on completing your series by doing events from our second
series or elsewhere, you can still place an order but won't receive
your jersey(s) until you've completed a full brevet series. If you
meet the eligibility requirements as indicated but from last year, you
are a PCH Randos Super Randonneur and may order a jersey.

ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVE BY ME BY THE END OF THE WEEKEND.

(sorry about that -- having computer issues)

continuing...

Please hit "reply to author" to e-mail me your order. If you've
previously e-mailed me what you want, please do so again so I have all
the orders together.

I'll be leaving tomorrow to do the Eastern Sierra Double, so I won't
be able to answer any questions after this evening until Sunday late
afternoon. We'll post later where to send your check, and who to make
it out to. We just need to know who wants what so we can get the
order in. Lead time is 4 - 6 weeks, and we're hoping to have them in
time for Gold Rush.

Thanks!

Jim

Ok, I'm getting technical here, but if I complete the 1200K GRR, doesn't that count as one of the events I may have missed?

The cut and paste didn't format very well. Here's trying again. You
should be able to figure it out either way. ;-)

Hey, I certainly don't want to be the bad guy, but to be even handed,
RUSA is quite clear that you can't replace a shorter brevet with a
longer one. Do our 400K on 9/19 and you'll be golden. I would think
that should be a relatively quite time of year at the shop.

One last thing...

The yellow in the green and yellow background is actually much more
yellow than the yellow-green it looks like in the images.

The thought is that to be a PCH RANDOS Super Randonneur, that you
should have done at least one of the significant brevets with us. Not
to downplay the significance of completing a 200K brevet, but in the
randonneur world it's not particularly significant, and we want to
encourage (through eligibility for our jersey) people to do one of the
longer brevets with us.

In your case since you did participate with us on the longer brevets,
but could not finish due to injury, as long as you've completed the
series somewhere, if it's OK with Greg, it's OK with me.

I'll try to catch one of the longer PCH rides this summer.

I would like to thank Jim for all his work on the Jersey. He did a
great job! Please send him your thanks along with your order

Therefore, I think the final decision is up to him, but my vote would
be that as long as you have done one ride with PCH Randos, and
finished the series you are qualified for the jersey. I would hate to
say to an experienced Rando who happens to be in the area from Alaska,
Japan, the UK or even France at the time that we are running a 200k
that they could not purchase the jersey since they haven't ridden a
longer ride here. (By the way I have ridden California brevets with
riders from all of these areas at one time or another.) In order to
get the jersey, they will have to ride a 600k somewhere - and I do
disagree with Jim as I think a 200k is significant.

Besides, if this jersey looks as good as I think it does in real life,
I might be able to trade it for one of those really cool Italian rando
jerseys at the next PBP, figuring that I can always get another one
when I get back home. :)

As there wouldn't be a PCH Randonneurs without Greg, I will defer to
him. Therefore to get a PCH Randos Super Randonneur jersey, you will
have needed to complete a full brevet series, and have done at least
one brevet with PCH Randos. :-)

And my choice of words was poor re: the significance of a 200K
brevet. My apologies. That's why Greg's in charge and I'm not. ;-)

BTW, great design!  Yellow I like!  But no woody with surfboard? And World Champion stripes instead of ACP brevet medal stripes --- maybe that's to avoid infringing my jersey prior design copyright ;-)

Yes Dion. We would have used the ACP brevet colors, but for your
design copyright on your RUSA SR jersey submission. But Greg had the
alternate (excellent) idea to use the WCS. The thinking is that the
SR is an international award, and since randonneuring is non-
competitive in nature, each SR is our sport's equivalent of a "world"
champion. Works for you? ;-)

And, in truth, yellow was in part due to your previously stated desire
for something "bright". The woody w/ surfboard will be part of the
"mural" design on a standard PCH Randonneur jersey to come.

Also, everyone, please let me know if you want club cut, race cut, or
women's cut, and short sleeve and/or long sleeve. Jerry, I'm assuming
you want a short sleeve, club cut. Please confirm. See you (Jerry)
in Bishop.

I like! -- Visibility is highly desirable! Now I've just got to figure out when I can join you guys and earn a jersey.

From Dion -- "Now I've just got to figure out when I can join you guys
and earn a jersey."

Well there's always that! Might I suggest the 600K in the fall. It
will be a fantastic ride.

ALSO, thank you Greg for the kind words. And although you've
previously acknowledged Shai, I want to make clear that this work was
done in concert with him. I'm just the more prolific "message
sender". LOL

Put your order in as we are not sure as to when we will do another
batch and just plan on riding - you would still get your jersey before
the end of this season. Plus, if all goes as planned, you should have
at least nine opportunities next year in addition to the four
remaining this year. And who knows if we will add a something like a
ride from Moorpark to the Endless Summer Cafe at the Santa Barbara
Harbor late in the year - just because.

By the way, I think anyone not riding the Gold Rush should give San
Diego serious consideration for their July ride to keep their R-12
alive. Lisa and I are planning on riding a permanent for June.

Hi Jim,

Put me down for a race cut medium - thanks!

Great ride on Saturday!  Definitely one to remember.  I wonder what it would have been like if the temps had been 30 degrees warmer....  Did you get a ride in on Sunday?  It took me forvever to get to sleep after we got home.  I finally napped from noon til 2pm, then felt pretty good the rest of the day.
