I just stumbled across this group that organizes Friday night rides in the UK. Seems like they get some good ridership. Last week they 'only' had 25 riders which seems like a fair number to me.

They're called Friday Night Ride to the Coast. I will be in the UK next year with my folding bike. I'm going to see if I can join them.
