An official source at the Directorate General of the Passports Department (Jawazat) said that in view of the receipt of inquiries from a number of employers and residents on the link between the issuance of the traveling visas and the fingerprint procedure, and how this correlates with the imposition of penalties on each person delayed in registering his fingerprint.
Therefore, the Directorate General wishes to explain to the employers and the residents that the link of the fingerprint registration is one of the requirements for obtaining traveling visas, and if any of the residents does not have any intention to travel for the time being, he can register at any time thereafter when he is intending to travel to avoid any congestion knowing that there is no sanctions on the delay in the fingerprint registration, and that women of and dependents less than 18 years old, are not included in the present stage.
