The 3rd Circuit Court opinion has been issued...the one we've been waiting for.

 

The news is mixed, but DEFINITELY not the news we wanted and Mumia and justice deserve.

 

No new trial (according to this decision). BUT, the state cannot execute him without first retrying

the sentencing part of the trial in front of a new jury. 

 

At tomorrow night's meeting, Martha C. will explain both the majority AND minority decisions in this stage of his appeals.  She will also explain Mumia's options at this point.

 

Then we will discussion our options for mobilizing a response to continue to support Mumia and press for a NEW FAIR trial.  These include participating in mobilizations scheduled for Sat. April 19 in Philly, New York City and San Francisco.
