Please join Pittsburgh Youth and Students Against the War on Saturday, October 4th for our fall antiwar rally, "Troops Out Now!: Voices Against the Occupation of Iraq."
We have a host of exciting speakers who will speak on topics ranging from the lies used to recruit young people into the military, to the treatment of women in the military, to the brutality of the occupation, to the need for an antiwar movement independent of the two parties and what way forward to build the antiwar movement. Our speakers include Joyce Wagner from Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Beverly Gaddy, a Pitt professor and military mother, as well as several more local Pittsburgh activists.
Building an independent mass antiwar movement is as important now as ever before. We came out in large numbers to protest the war on March 29th. On October 4th, let's come out again for an amazing event and educate ourselves about why our rulers in the United States are determined to continue the Iraq war in spite of widespread opposition, and how we can build the antiwar movement we'll need to turn that mass opposition into mass action and bring the war to an end.
