Hello, dear collegues,

Out IT team asks for this (I barelly understand the wording; not my field of knowledge :-) )

We are testing our website with new servers . We will have two IIS Servers to provide service with high availability and balance both in the requests. It seems that the PXWEB product is not programmed to be able to query two IIS servers at the same time and balance it, because it gives us an error in the machineKey. ¿ Can you confirm if it is possible to configure PXWEB in high availability?

This is the error when navigate the PXWEB page

Thanks in advance,

Mikel

Hi Mikel!

It is possible we have two web servers and a load balancer in front of them.

The error message you are getting is because the different IIS servers uses different machine keys. The machine key is used to encrypt and decrypt viewstate i ASP.NET Web Forms application. and you have to set them to be equal. See e.g. https://documentation.alphasoftware.com/documentation/pages/HowTo/IIS/Use%20IIS%20behind%20a%20load%20balancer.xml on how to do that.

Although PxWeb stores alot of information in session on the server so your load balancer algorithm must make sure that a user session is always going to the same server.

Kind regards
Petros
