Hi Emil,
StatGreenland uses DESCRIPTION for menu texts (like Scb) and update the info back office
TITLE is dynamic and does not include time

Emne: Show time period in table title in PxWeb
Hi,
On Statistics Sweden, the time period is shown in each table title which I think is a very nice summary, see picture below:
I checked the PX metadata and noticed this was not in the title of each file, so I figured this can be dynamically generated by enabling some setting in PxWeb?
Anybody know how to enable this feature in PxWeb? Using version 2022v1.
Best regards,
Emil

Hi,
I still want to add:
DESCRIPTION keyword is used to describe the WHOLE table with the years or moths
TITLE is generated automatically by using the CONTENT as the seed and then adding the variables
CONTENT is used to create the seed for dynamic title
NEVER EVER START USING FIXED TITLES FOR THE PX-FILE!
How can a fixed title describe one cell from a 10 miljon cells table?
So never go the rabbit hole DESCRPTIONDEFAULT=YES
The dynamic title also takes in account the ELIMINATION keyword.
so if you use ELIMINATION and don’t select for example age or sex from the table then
it eliminates them from the table and the dynamic title.
I often hear the dynamic title don’t work in our language … well pretty shure it works!
-English - Population “by” age “and” year
-Finnish - Väestö “muuttujana” ikä “ja” vuosi (The dynamic Finnish title translated “Population “by variable” age “and” year” … so we did it!
In Finland we had a long 20 year discussion about this, but today no one questions it any more … Our customers helped us to solve this…
-Swedish – Befolkning efter ålder och år (the dynamic Swedish title kind of translated “Population “after” age “and” year” …

Aihe: VS: Show time period in table title in PxWeb
Hi,
You use the DESCRIPTION keyword and the dynamic TITLE.
You can put the years in the DESCRIPTION but the dynamic
TITLE generates an acceptable TITLE for the retrieved table.
DESCRIPTION[en]="11m8 -- Price index of public expenditure (2015=100), Central government finances by type of expenditure, annual data, 2015-2023";
TITLE[en]="Price index of public expenditure (2015=100), Central government finances by type of expenditure, annual data by Year, Type of expenditure and Information";
CONTENTS[en]="Price index of public expenditure (2015=100), Central government finances by type of expenditure, annual data";
Dynamic TITLE will always be CONTENT + variables (by Year, Type of expenditure and Information)
This is the beauty of the 3-title structure in PxWeb, but this is also the thing that most PxWeb users don’t understand at all ….
https://pxdata.stat.fi/PxWeb/pxweb/en/StatFin/StatFin__vaerak/
This is the most miss understood thing in the px metadata model …
