Hi all,
I see API calls to create and delete comments, but no way to
retrieve comments - and comments to not appear to be part of the HTML
content of a page. (unless I am missing it )

Is that correct?

Comments end up being important part of assessing student use of the
workspaces we are using. (probably not something we want to have to
go through and count manually.)

I can think of a number of schemes to scrape the comments from a
page, but I want to verify the state of affairs with respect to the
API and comments before I look at doing that.

That's correct. We currently do not offer a way through our API to
retrieve comments on a page. It's definitely something we would like
to implement, but we have a lot of higher priority projects to do
first.
