The film is a sensitive examination of love and commitment told through the story of Shattuck's family history and her parents' relationship. Through intimate interviews and memories, Shattuck reflects on Marcia and Trisha's decision to stay together through Trisha's transition from male to female. FROM THIS DAY FORWARD is a film that could only be made by their daughter, an intimate portrayal of one family's ability to change, adapt and remain.
