On Monday, July 24, POV presents the Oscar-nominated short film JOE'S VIOLIN, followed by SHALOM ITALIA. In the JOE'S VIOLIN by Kahane Cooperman and Raphaela Neihausen, a donated musical instrument forges an improbable friendship between a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor and 12-year-old Bronx school girl. In SHALOM ITALIA, three Italian Jewish brothers set off on a journey through Tuscany, in search of a cave where they hid as children to escape the Nazis. 

In POV's Social Media Toolkits Dropbox folder for the films, please find images, film clips and a trailer with closed captioning files, sample social media language and other information.

On the night of broadcast, POV invites stations and partners to use the hashtags #JoesViolinPBS and #ShalomItaliaPBS join the conversation with our audience around the film.
