MEMORIES OF A PENITENT HEART premieres Monday, July 31 at 10 PM on PBS. Filmmaker Cecilia Aldarondo excavates and explores the true family story surrounding her uncle Miguel. Twenty-five years after his death from complications from AIDS, she breaks the silence and sifts through conflicting memories of a man she never really knew. The film is a brave and honest exhumation of buried resentments that ultimately reveals how reflections on grief, betrayal and love bring us closer to reconciliation.
