Hi -- We're working to add headlight/headlamp simulation to our ISET tools (Stanford Image Simulation Toolkit). We have a lot of fairly sophisticated scenes in our ISETAuto repo, but we've been using spotlights to model headlights. In reality they are carefully shaped and more recently constructed from many separate lighting elements.

In both cases, the beams we need to model are highly modified based on the vehicle's analysis of the scene (and NHTSA regulations).

So, we are trying to use Projection lights to model headlamps. However, we can't figure how how to get them to work in v4, or how we need to set their parameters. All the examples we've found are for v3, and we haven't been able to translate them. I'd share our example code, except I don't even know if we are going in the correct direction.

Thanks for any help!

In parallel, if anyone else is working on headlamp/light simulation using pbrt, in particular for doing work on AEB and PAEB, we'd love to compare notes.
