Hi -- We're working on adding modeling for modern (e.g. matrix & pixel, etc.) vehicle headlamps/lights in our ISET (Stanford Wandell lab) image simulation tools.

We've been working on using a projection light, with an image representing the modification of the light beam's adaptation to the scene.

However, we haven't been able to figure out how to use projection lights in v4. All the samples we've found are from v3, and trying to convert them hasn't been fruitful.

So we'd love to get a working example. (I'd share my non-working attempts at coding them, but I don't know if they are even aimed at the correct direction.)

In parallel, our idea for simulation is modeling the headlamps as a large number of point sources, although with some type of "shutter" that limits each source to a specific region. If anyone is working on this using either strategy, it'd be great to hear from you!

For those interested, our ISETAuto repo has some fairly-well-developed tools for simulating driving scenes along with pedestrians and animals that might be a safety issue. But we've been using simple spotlights as headlamps, which isn't very realistic.

Thanks -- David Cardinal
