Technical Manual task force meeting: Monday October 5th at 5pm

Hi folks, 

I just wanted to update the list that the date chosen for the task force on the technical manual will be Oct. 5th at 5PM. 

Location TBD, could just be google meet. 

For the confused, the technical manual contains the street design guide that Portland uses. It also contains our sidewalk materials policy map. 

I emailed the planning director, Kevin Kraft and got some details: 

Process: 

• The first planning board workshop on the technical manual will be on October 13th; there's nothing in the agenda yet of course but it says it's a hybrid meeting which is of note.  https://portlandme.portal.civicclerk.com/event/8439/files

• Following that workshop there will be a stakeholder meeting with PBPAC (it may include other groups as well, as prior stakeholder meetings have) 
• Then the draft will be posted, like the Franklin Street draft is and like recode was, for public comment. 
• There will be 2 more planning board workshops after that, and then a public hearing & vote from the planning board. 

Details: 

• The sidewalk material policy map is part of the technical manual, though it may be addressed separately.
• This is going through the planning board and that's it, the council does not get a say in the technical manual.
