We are heartbroken to learn about the passing of Diane Bell, a longtime Portland Trails member and volunteer as well as a beloved part of Portland’s running community. She was tragically hit by a car on Thursday evening while on a run. We join everyone who knew her in mourning her loss.

On Monday, Dec. 1st, we’ll be holding a vigil for Diane — and others we’ve lost to traffic violence in 2025 — alongside our friends at @bikemaine. We’ll share more details as it gets closer.
