Hi folks,
Thanks so much for coming out on Wednesday night- it was nice to meet some folks in person for the first time, and I think this report will turn out nicely.

I've really just begun the draft, but I think it's in good enough shape to share it now.  Feel free to comment, edit or suggest, and feel free to reply with any pictures!

This thread has some relevant pictures of accidents, which might be nice added to the document in the right places.  https://groups.google.com/g/pbpac/c/k1r115aIcZQ

Hi folks, somewhat confusingly, here's the final draft of the Deering Ave Walk Audit Report:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/12nv0c9be-qbriarwnKnL9l4H43on53CanHXez11Dyyc/edit?usp=sharing

Thanks to Emilie Swenson for doing a large part of the finishing work, John Clark, Damon and everyone else who contributed!

I think it's looking pretty close, but there where a few questions:
  • In the neighborhood map someone made, (perhaps Jessica?) it's missing C: USM dorm
  • Someone added this bullet point: Dartmouth Street could be a good connection from the neighborhood to the Back Cove, but in spite of or because of recent design choices, it’s not. Could someone elaborate on that a teeny tiny bit?
Thanks everyone!

I added a short bullet point in the action items section at the end: Support the Phase 1 streetlight installation for Woodfords Corner in the FY24 budget & include the remaining streetlights in FY25- Details

Zarro's LTE reminded me, and I think we shouldn't leave them out, even if this is really focused on Deering Ave.

I think it was mentioned by Eric Larsson that woodfords has done it's own walk Audits in the past- if there's any other documents we should link to, let me know, I'd like to send this pretty soon- we're likely sending a letter or 2 following our next meeting, on Monday, and it's nice if things are spaced out a tiny bit.

Looking good! My neighbor, Scott, actually created that map but I can add point C to it this evening and send along.

Maybe you already know about this or are even taking part, but I just heard of it:

The Street Project is coming to four locations in Maine March 23rd in Portland, March 30th in Augusta, April 6th in Bangor, and TBD in Biddeford. All screenings are 5:30-7:30pm. Come watch, meet and discuss ‘The Street Project’ with the Maine Trails Coalition, special guests, policy makers, and community members. All are welcome! The film screening (52 min) will be followed by an audience talkback session specific to active transportation and Vision Zero strategies. The Street Project is an inspiring story about the global, citizen-led fight to make our streets safer. These events are FREE thanks to the support of sponsors. RSVPs are required. Donations are encouraged upon registration or can be made the night of. All donations will support the Maine Trails Coalition. Click here to RSVP.

Thanks Todd, not just my work by any means!
Jessica, Emilie, John Clark, Damon, so many helping hands!

I wonder if you could get in touch with Andrew Jones & Ben Lake & ask if they are ok with their recordings from the walk being linked in the document?  I think I have the wrong email for Andrew, and don't have an email for Ben Lake, though he might be on the google group. Aside from that, I think I'm happy with it & ready to publish it.

I did some editing.  On the conclusion section I reduced the font betwen paragraph and removed some languae to get it on one page (one line over).

Can't tell if successful until you accept the changes.

Thank you all - I just accepted the changes + deleted the radar picture and corresponding footnote that cited where the photo was from and it all fits.
Some solid findings and opportunities.
