Hi all,
I wanted to flag that at the end of tomorrow's 5:00 S&T Committee meeting  (zoom link), council will be discussing the relocation of the Amtrak station. As many of you know, there are two viable locations: one behind Margarita's, at 242 Saint John St. -- site 2 -- and one near the Tyson meat factory --site 3 (site 1, near McDonald's, is nonviable).

I think I'm speaking to the choir here, but site 2 is the obvious choice for many reasons but chief among them is that it's easily accessible, and City staff agrees. NNEPRA, who oversees Amtrak, disagrees, and seems to be backed by Maine Med, which currently owns the land on which site 2 would sit.

With that said, it'd be great if folks here could either attend public comment or write in to public...@portlandmaine.gov in support of Site 2. Again, it'll be towards the end of the meeting so plan accordingly.

Thanks!
Wes
