Three people were taken to the hospital with injuries after car crashes on Route 1 and Pine Point Road.

One person was killed and three others taken to the hospital after two separate car crashes in Scarborough on Tuesday.
Emily Doyon, 36, of Windham, turned left onto Route 1 from a parking lot when her vehicle was struck by a car operated by Joshua Bath, 25, of Arundel, around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Doyon died at Maine Medical Center. Bath was treated at the scene, and a passenger in their car was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t believed to be life threatening.
Part of Route 1 between Route 701 and Pleasant Hill Road remained closed Tuesday afternoon.
About an hour earlier, a car struck a cyclist on Pine Point Road in front of Clambake Seafood Restaurant. The vehicle, driven by Carol Rocchini, 63, struck the cyclist, Nancy Thiele, 66, and then continued on East Grand Avenue toward Old Orchard Beach.
Rocchini then struck a pickup truck operated by Louis Baker, 63. Rocchini’s car stopped on the side of the road after hitting a wooden fence.
Thiele, who is from Nevada, and Rocchini, who is from New Jersey, suffered injuries that weren’t believed to be life threatening and were taken to Maine Medical Center. Baker, from Vermont, and his passenger were treated at the scene and released.
East Grand Avenue at Pine Point Road was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
Both crashes are under investigation.
