Hello Bicycle and humane traffic design friendly folk,
The Maine Statewide bike ped Monthly call & google group is pretty cool, and is sometimes a valuable way to make connections & help avoid too much duplicative work across the state.

This month they're having a presentation which, if I've included you in this email, I think you might find interesting- it's about applying Dutch lesions in urban and suburban design to communities in the USA.

I will petition to have a recording made of the presentation, let me know if you can't make it and want access to that recording.

~Winston

Hey Bike/Ped Folks!

This is the official 2 week notice of our next meet up, which will happen on Monday, November 17th at 4PM.

We have another special speaker in the works - I am SO excited to bring Rishabh Mittal to the group to present on Dutch Design Principles for Bike Planning

Rishabh Mittal is a Transport Planner in New Haven, CT, who has lived, studied, and worked in the Netherlands. He is now sharing his expertise in world-class bike infrastructure with folks in the US.

I'm personally excited to hear about some of the core principles behind cohesive bike networks - and I'm wondering how we can apply those principles in more rural areas here in Maine. (My mind also goes to how we could apply the planning principles to sidewalks - infrastructure we know still lags in many places around the state!) It sounds like a great framework for thinking about connectivity in general.

As always, please share this information with members of your network; Zoom link below!

Just a note, we will meet this month and then take December off. Hope to see folks on the 17th!

All the best,
Amelia
