The Transportation Plan Supergroup had a work session to organize the document and consolidate recommendations. We got is in much better shape and there were some very helpful comments.
Next Steps:
  • Continue working on the recommendations document which I think we should call the The TPS Report, please be mindful of sticking to the outline format and check for redundancies. (You can use the FIND function to check to see if your idea is already included). I'm particularly interested in areas that need physical treatments (such as Allen's Corner)
  • Next meeting will be a short presentation at the UCP meeting (pending agenda approval) which is February 18th at 7PM
  • Circulate the report to neighborhood associations for their input and buy-in (especially concerning physical treatments)
When editing the document please be judicious as to whether to use Editing or Suggesting mode; Comments are great.
Thank you,
Zack

Hello Supergroup!
At our last meeting it became quite clear that this group needs to be more of a working group, so our next meeting will be a work session where we'll be cleaning up the recommendations document by working simultaneously on it. The meeting will be hybrid which means that we'll be talking over google chat but we'll be looking at the document.
SUNDAY 1/25/26 at 5PM
If you want to be there in person I'll offer my house: 22 Huntress St, Portland, ME 04102
Best,
Zack

Also, I believe we have several parrell documents existing on different clouds, unfortunately I've only seen the one that I started, if you have access to another one please share it so that we can figure out a way to consolidate.
Agenda comming soon,
See you Sunday!

Thank you Zack for your work coordinating this.

I've heard that the Transportation Master Plan bidders will have their interviews in March, so we have some time to get organized before that process kicks off. The next steps look great. I would want to aim to have a document widely endorsed by 2 dozen groups on or before March 1st or so, so we can get it into the Council and city staff before they even talk to the bidders.

We could also devote most of the PBPAC meeting scheduled for the evening of Monday, February 9 to working on this. Is there any interest from this group in doing that? We could do it in-person or online. Please let me know.

Cheers,

Myles
Chair, Portland Bike-Ped Advisory Committee

Myles that sounds like a great strategy. Thanks
