Walked past just now, about 5:15. Rider no longer there, bike (looked like an ebike) lying in street, westbound side of Spring, just west of High. Cops had blocked off that part of Spring. I don't know anything else. Looked pretty bad.

Eight Charges Filed After Armed Disturbance, Fleeing from Police [Dumbass Thug Drives Into Police Car]

PORTLAND, Maine – On Sunday, February 2, 2026, at 12:54 p.m., Portland Police responded to 64 Munjoy South Street for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that an individual had kicked in the front door of a residence, threatened a resident with a firearm, and struck him with the weapon before fleeing the scene.

At approximately 3:40 p.m., the suspect was observed riding an electric scooter in the area of Silver Street. Officers attempted to apprehend him, but he continued to flee. With assistance from a South Portland Police K9 unit and several officers in the area, the suspect was taken into custody at Spring and High Streets after crashing his scooter into a police cruiser.

Police arrested 34-year-old Devon Dwyer of Falmouth and charged him with Assault, Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, Burglary, Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, Criminal Mischief, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs and Violating Conditions of Release.

At the time of his arrest, Dwyer was wearing ballistic plates under his clothing and was in possession of a handgun and a fixed-blade knife. Among the drugs recovered were approximately 91 grams of fentanyl.

He was transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries before being taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

Investigators are urging anyone who has any information that might assist in this or any other case to call them at (207) 874-8575. You may also text the keyword PPDME and your message to 847411.
