Hi foks,
On December 14th from 10:30 AM- 12 Noon The Portland Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is planning to hold a workshop on our goals for the council for 2026.  We’ll be meeting at the Munjoy Hill House again, at 92 Congress Street.

Immediately prior to our workshop the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Organization will be holding a workshop on traffic calming on Munjoy hill from 9-10:30; folks are encouraged to come to both! A likely goal of ours will be continued and improved support for local traffic calming efforts, so it makes sense to welcome folks from that workshop into our goal setting workshop.

We will hopefully be organized enough to vote on a list of priorities by the end of the meeting: to be eligible to vote you’ll need to be a PBPAC member, which means: living in Portland and attending a PBPAC meeting or event in the last 12 months.  Fortunately, you’re in luck and there’s a PBPAC general meeting tomorrow (Monday) at 7PM! If you attend that meeting, you’ll be eligible to vote in the priorities workshop!  Details can be found here: https://groups.google.com/g/pbpac/c/LY9NG8g0gSI

The council and the Council’s sustainability and Transportation Committee (chaired by Councilor Phillips, with Councilors Bullett and Ali serving as well) will be setting their goals for the year soon, so the primary focus for this workshop will be pulling together a set of council actions for us to advocate for in the coming year, quickly, and in a way we can submit very quickly following the workshop.

We’ll be drawing from prior goals; we may be incorporating new goals as well.

2025 goals: https://www.portlandbikeped.org/priorities-2025

2024 goals: https://www.portlandbikeped.org/priorities-for-2024

2023 goals: https://www.portlandbikeped.org/priorities-for-2023

I thought we might already have one somewhere, but I couldn’t find it, so I made a report card for 2025: 2025 PBPAC Priorities Report Card Feel free to add comments to the notes if you’re aware of progress that I’ve missed!

I also threw together a draft document for the goals themselves, which we can work on during the workshop: DRAFT: PBPAC 2026 goals

Hope to see you next Sunday, and feel free to add suggestions to the above 2026 draft, or reply to this email with suggestions/questions etc.

Hi folks,
This is tomorrow!
I hope to see you there!

Immediately prior to our workshop the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Organization will be holding a workshop on traffic calming I am assured that there will be enough treats and warm beverages to fuel both meetings:

Sunday, December 14th, 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m., the MHNO Street Safety Team will reconvene at Hill House to review our walk audit report, and to set safety and traffic calming priorities and a preliminary budget in advance of the 12/31 mini-grant deadline and 1/29 traffic calming workshop.  Tasty treats and warm beverages will be on hand to fuel the discussion.
