I have installed the Linksys BEFSR41 Router successfully and am
operating successfully with 2 computers on Pacbell DSL; however, I have
4 problems with the connection.

1. Most of the time if I am not active on the internet for a few
minutes, such as reading some Emails or looking at a web page such as
filling out a form, I lose
connection to the internet. The status on the Lynksys init page shows I
am connected, but I have no interface with the internet.

2. Some web pages do not load completely even though I still have a
connection.

3. One web sight (www.familysearch.org) which allows me to access two
web pages deep into the system, then I lose the connection to that web
sight but not the
internet in general.

4. If I bring my browser down, I cannot later bring up internet
connection unless I initialize my DSL modem and my router.

None of these things occur if I am connected directly to the DSL.

Please help. Thank you

Hi Richard,

I had the same problem with the linksys befrs41. I got disonnect from the
net and I would have to restart my dsl modem to get my connection back. I
never had that problem when I was using my computer to do NAT.

Best Regards,
Tom

Probably router bugs. Make sure you have the latest firmware. When I run
one particular internet app on my computer, the router's PPPoE connection
breaks, but the rest of the time it stays solid. So it's all dependent on
the router you're using.
