Hello Public Media Archivists,
Over the past year, a small group of public media archivists has fostered valuable collaboration, tackling shared challenges in metadata, workflows, software, budgeting, and more. Now, the group is excited to open its doors to other public media archivists, both radio and television, and build an even stronger community of practice.
If you're looking to connect with peers, share best practices, and collaborate on the unique aspects of public media archiving, this group is for you.
What you can expect:
- A monthly Google Meet invitation for online discussions. Currently, the group meets at 10:00 AM Central Time (CT) on the fourth Thursday of every month. The group is open to adjusting the time or adding additional sessions to accommodate more members – expect a survey soon!
- A Google Group invitation for access to meeting notes and continued discussion.
- Crowdsourced agendas for meetings, gathered the week before the session to ensure the group discusses topics relevant to everyone.
- Casual and collaborative discussions focusing on supporting public media archivists through shared experiences and problem-solving.
- Opportunities for additional summits or panels as the group grows.
Ready to connect and collaborate? Send your email address and station name to marci...@iowapbs.org to receive your Google Group invitation and details for our next monthly meeting!
Sincerely,
