I come from a publishing community that is using DC metadata to describe published assets.  Now we are developing metadata for the short video clips commonly used to enhance published works when presented on tablets and eReaders.  My question is whether PBCore uses the standard Dublin Core fields such as dc:identifier, dc:title, dc:subject, dc:format, etc.  It appears that these fields have been re-invented by PBCore since they appear to be in the pbcore: namespace in your XSD.  Can someone please comment??

PBCore has its own namespace for these elements because, while then are DC in their origin, they have been extended in PBCore. Notably with the additions of attributes. (e.g. attribute: source, ref, version, annotation. There are others for different elements)
But DC and PBCore can be cross-mapped.

Thanks so much.  We are trying to figure this out from info on the website.   So for example if we take pbcoreSubject as an example we should be able to map our dc:subject directly into the subject element within pbcoreSubject
