PBCore Incremental Update -- suggestions due 7/15

Hi all,
I just wanted to send a reminder that will be taking suggestions for changes to the PBCore XML Schema and Controlled Vocabularies through July 15, 2026.
How It Works: Please submit either submit suggestions as an Issue on the PBCore GitHub, or email them to PBCor...@wgbh.org with the subject "Suggested Change for Incremental Update." Suggestions may include additions to PBCore's elements, attributes, or controlled vocabulary lists, or changes to make the standard less restrictive (for example, making elements repeatable that are currently not repeatable.) Suggestions to remove elements, attributes, or controlled vocabulary terminology are unlikely to be considered, as the intention is to keep the standard backwards compatible.
Timeline: Suggestions will be considered up through 7/15/2026. After all suggestions have been received, a virtual meeting will be convened August 2026 -- open to all PBCore users -- to review proposed changes and draft an update to the schema. The schema update will be circulated for comments and questions, and, finally, voted on at the PBCore Annual Meeting in 2026 (hosted at AMIA and open remotely to all PBCore users.)
