Effective February 7, 2022: If you are applying for a CDL for the first time or adding a Hazmat, Passenger, or School Bus endorsement for the first time, you must complete entry-level driver training (ELDT) before taking a CDL road test. Hazmat ELDT is required before taking the Hazardous Materials knowledge test. The training provider must be registered on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. The road test scheduling system offers the earliest available dates and times at sites near the ZIP code you provide. Usually, the earliest date is within 3 to 5 weeks, but at peak testing periods during summer and school breaks it may be up to 10 weeks away. There are no waiting lists. Tests are almost always on weekdays (only rarely do we offer them on a Saturday).
Tests can be canceled/rescheduled or relocated due to bad weather or road construction. Before you leave for your test, check the DMV cancellations, closings, and delays webpage or call 1-518-402-2100.
After the road test, the examiner will give you instructions on how to receive your test results by visiting roadtestresults.nyrtsscheduler.com. Your results will be posted to the website after 6 p.m. on the day of your test.
The car you're using for your test should be familiar to you, and not one that you're sitting in for the first time. You'll want to know where the controls are for everything from the lights to the windshield wipers, so you aren't frantically searching if it starts raining. The way each car's brake and gas pedals react can be different, so knowing how sensitive these are can help you avoid braking or accelerating too aggressively or too slowly.
Like anything else, learning how to be a good driver takes lots of time behind the wheel practicing. There are things you'll learn while driving that you just can't get from reading, so it's important to log plenty of time at the wheel.
Whether it's weather conditions, an ambulance coming down the road or any other situation that could happen, you should be mentally prepared to adapt and adjust accordingly. The only true way to do this is get in those hours of practice driving, and trying to do so in a variety of weather conditions. Only getting out to drive on beautiful, sunny days will only work against you if your test lands on a rainy, overcast day.
This site definitely works. I practiced their questions for 24 hours. Went through each practice test then jumped into a bus to Santa Monica, California DMV. I passed the drivers test the first time; while the majority walked out with their faces down.
I found out that my DMV test was going to be in five days and found this site with a simple google search. The tests were pretty helpful in familiarizing myself with the manual and the kind of questions they may ask. I got 100% on my permit knowledge test!
I have gone through all the permit practice tests and passed the written test with ease in 15 min and 97% score. If you can go through these tests, there is no chance that you cannot clear the main written test.
The practice tests were extremely helpful and instructive, full of helpful pictures and explanations to help cement knowledge. I appreciated being able to review every test and question as many times as I wanted. I'm not certain I would have passed if I had just read and studied the DMV Handbook alone.

I took the test today and passed, I literally knew every single question on that test, I looked around thinking to myself, Are they serious?! lol, If you want to pass, these practice tests will help for sure!
Note:
If you use a rental vehicle for the test, the person taking the driving test must be listed on the rental agreement as an authorized driver. You must show proof that the rental vehicle is covered by liability insurance either by accepting the liability damage waiver when you rent the vehicle or by showing proof that your personal auto liability insurance covers rental vehicles. NO additional passengers will be allowed in the vehicle during the driving test.
GA Department of Driver Services offers an online appointment system to schedule and take an automobile, motorcycle, or commercial road test.
Must have a licensed driver with you who is at least 21 years of age in order to take the Road Test.
If you are under the age of 18, we allow our young drivers to schedule their skills test up to six months in advance. Young drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and schedule as soon as possible. We recommend that our young drivers take advantage of this opportunity.
Appointments must be made to take the Non-Commercial Road Test. You may schedule your road test online. If you do not have access to the internet, you can schedule your driver's test by calling 1-800-423-5542.
Additionally, PennDOT has certified third-party businesses to administer the skills test for a market-driven fee. All third-party examiners (PDF) are PennDOT-certified and the test is identical to the test that you would take at a PennDOT driver license center.
Before the test begins, a driver license examiner will check to see that your vehicle has a valid registration card, current insurance, valid state inspection sticker and, if required, a valid emissions sticker. The lights, horn, brakes, windshield wipers, turn signals, mirrors, doors, seats, and tires on your vehicle will also be checked to make certain they operate properly and meet safety standards. If it is determined any part of your vehicle is unsafe or does not meet state inspection requirements, you will not be allowed to take the road test. If your vehicle is equipped with seat belts, make sure they are clean and ready for use. You and the examiner will be required to wear them during the road test.
Note: Vehicles equipped with Advanced Parking Guidance Systems (self-parking vehicles) can be used for testing; however, the self parking feature must be turned off and is not permitted to be activated during the road test.
The examiner will be your only passenger during the road test. When the road test begins, you will be told where to drive and what maneuvers to make. Close attention will be paid to the way you approach and obey warning signs, stop signs, and traffic lights. The examiner will note how you control your vehicle, use turn signals to communicate with other drivers, or use any other vehicle controls that may become necessary during the test.
If you are under the age of 18 and fail the road test, Pennsylvania law requires you to wait seven days before you can retake the road test. This delay in retaking the test will give you time to practice and to improve your driving skills. You have three chances with each learner's permit to pass the road test before the expiration date of the learner's permit. After the third failure, you must reapply to extend your learner's permit.
After passing your passenger (Class D) or motorcycle (Class M) road test, paying the fees, and proving lawful presence (if applicable), your permit will immediately serve as your temporary driver's license until the permanent license is delivered via the mail.
The fastest and easiest way to schedule a road test is online. If you need to reschedule a road test, simply visit the online service center and select 'schedule a road test'. This option will allow you to cancel your current road test and select another date and location.
NOTE: Commercial (Class A, B, or C) road tests can also be scheduled by calling 857-368-7381. This phone line is monitored by the State Police who conduct the commercial road tests. They are not authorized to schedule any Class D or M road test. Any applicant scheduling a full CDL Skills Exam on or after October 10, 2023 should be prepared to test on the new modernized version of the exam.
To schedule your commercial (Class A, B, or C) road test, call 857-368-7381. This phone line is monitored by the State Police who conduct the commercial road tests. They are not authorized to schedule any Class D or M road test.
Vehicles used for a Class D or M road test must meet the following requirements and will be inspected before your test. This includes vehicles with an ignition interlock device, and vehicles with adaptive equipment for a competency test.
If you have a road test scheduled, and you would like to see if there is a road test available sooner than your scheduled date, you will need to cancel your current road test first. If you cancel your road test and then change your mind, the RMV cannot guarantee that your original time slot will be available.
The knowledge test is available to take online at KnowToDrive Nevada. These results are transmitted to the DMV automatically for the purposes of issuing instruction permits or driver licenses. The test is available in both English and Spanish. Touch-screen devices are not compatible with the online exam - only computers with front-facing cameras or camera peripherals.
Interpreters must attest that they are approved by a governmental agency, court, educational institution, or non-profit advocacy group by presenting a letter from the approving agency. This is submitted with an application (DMV 502). See DMV Approved Translators/Interpreters.
The DMV charges a Testing Fee of $25 for a first-time knowledge and skills test and $10 for all retests. The initial fee covers both written and drive tests for any combination of license classes or endorsements that are paid for at the same time.
The KnowToDrive Nevada written exam charges a $6.75 fee each time the exam is taken. This fee is assessed at the time of testing. The initial testing fee of $25 will still be assessed when collecting your driving credentials. These fees are in addition to other Driver License Fees. Certain medically-required tests are exempt. There is no charge for vision tests.
