TheQolsys Panel does not have a factory reset option outside of the UI, and to apply firmware from an SD card also requires access to the UI, so this type of boot failure, while rare, is debilitating.

I understand the frustration, and I cannot say for certain but I would urge that this is not likely. Unless a problem requires no diagnostic effort and can be repaired easily, the cost of repair would outweigh the cost of a replacement.

Another option which may help ease the blow, we currently have a new setup special on the IQ Panel 2+ when purchased through Surety where new users get 6 months of free service. The same deal can be offered toward your existing subscription, should you wish to replace with the 2+ panel.

Lastly, you might try checking the power supply voltage with a multimeter, just on the off chance that something physical occurred (unlikely) or the voltage is borderline low. What voltage does it read?

Unfortunately in this case no, there is a backup option but as Image Sensors would not be compatible and will cause the transfer to fail, and we cannot remove the devices and get a new backup file since the panel is unresponsive, backup and restore would sadly not be an option here.

Qolsys firmware downloads come directly from their firmware server. We can have them check to determine if the download was not successful based on some panel diagnostics, however it would help to know some information about the circumstance:

I waited a bit over 3 hours before attempting to reboot (the time in the upper right hand corner was frozen). I held down the home button for 30 seconds and it rebooted and went right back to the same message.

Circling back on this, Qolsys has not been able to retrieve panel logs though we are able to get a confirmation from the panel. This means that the wifi and cell services are running and the panel can communicate, but the diagnostic service is not currently reachable. I am presuming the panel is in the same error state, but please let us know if not.

According to Qolsys there is no standard way of accessing the panel in this state. It sounds like the panel has failed to fully update to the firmware version that was downloaded and a number of the panel processes are not functioning. If you power down the system for 3 minutes to no effect and you cannot access any settings on the panel, unfortunately no other local troubleshooting will likely resolve this.

Qolsys suggests that the panel may be repairable, but this would need to be done at Qolsys offices. Please contact custome...@suretyDIY.com and they will be able to provide instructions regarding this process.

There is a basic 4 port router with 2 x pas600, 1 x Comx210 and the windows server. There is nothing fancy in the network setting of the router, just super standard DHCP server with no blocking rules.

The second PAS600 fails to update at the very start during uploading of the file (tested with both webpage and Power Commissioning software). Using my edge browser's 'Devtool' (F12) I can see it creates a link for the file upload, but 0 bytes transfer and eventually it times out with the error.

I have tried restarting the PAS600 and the Server but neither helped. The system log file of the Panel Server reports a 'Connection Closed' at about the start of the firmware upgrade according to the timestamp.

Thank you for your support. We found the issue; it was a faulty 4 port switch (not the router).

Initially we removed the 4-port router from the setup and connected directly into the patch panel feed to the electrical cabinet with the PAS600. Unknown to me, they had installed a 4-port switch along the run somewhere which was faulty.

When running a ping command to the PAS600 device, it would receive a 1ms reply and all looked ok. However, when run the ping with the -t parameter, it soon became apparent that randomly the connection would drop (thus the connection reset in the logs!). We removed the 4-port switch, and all worked perfectly and its updated.

The odd part is that in CMD ping the timeout was instant. It didn't wait for a few second before timing out but instantly report time out followed by a 1ms. See attached picture.

Thank you everyone for your support!

Yes, correct. The first PAS600 was in a closer electric cabinet and the cable run went directly to the patch panel and router. The second PAS600 was further down the building and the cable run made a stop along the way to a 4-port switch.

What is also confusing is that the 'Old firmware upload request' error was when I was using the same firmware that worked on the first PAS600.

I'm trying to update the firmware version from V16 to V17 on a Unified HMI Panel. I have the network connection plugged into my laptop ethernet and can ping the device. When using 'Update OS' in TIA portal, it makes me specify the panel IP address. No problem. Press update OS and select the new firmware.

Next the HMI auto reboots, and for some reason, it gets stuck at waiting for connection. Now Ive noticed that the Panel IP on reboot is the address of the X2 port rather than the X1 port on which the update has been triggered. I've tried plugging into the X2 port and connecting to that one to do the firmware update, but it doesn't connect and let me do it. Why is it seemingly switching ports on reboot? and ip addresses? and how do I get around this very frustrating issue?!

Perhaps you could reset the panel to factory settings and then donwload a sample WinCC Unified V17 project. If in that project you configure the image version V17, and the PC has the DVD with the operator panel images installed, it should also download the image version.

I have an Element and I applied the 2.7.3 software update, from 2.6.3. After the reboot it displays a "Firmware updates available" dialog that says the Element Face Panel has 1.1.0.90.0.6 and needs 1.1.9.6.

The Element face panel (on XPe consoles) firmware is unfortunately not up-gradable in the field. The fact that you are getting the firmware update message for it is a bug, which we intend to fix in the next release of Eos Family Software. We apologize for any inconvenience.

In the meantime, you can ignore the error on boot and continue to use the console as normal without any worry. If this is very annoying to you, we do have an option to remove the message on boot in this instance. Please contact your local ETC Technical Services if you would like this.

a lttle bit further up there is a button Update I/O Firmware. click it. wait a bit for it to launch, then in the dropdown you can choose version 1.4.2, click download. let it do its job, when it doesn't do anything anymore, exit and restart the console.

I am having a similar issue. My I/O port did update but my facepanel is not taking the update. It is still in 1.1.0.9.0.3 after the firmware update. I only have 2 options to choose form in the dropdown menu. Suggestions?

i select the one with IO_CARD_v1_4_2_9_0_005.SRC

and click 'Download'

it does something - the progress-bar fills up.

eventually it finishes at one point it starts again with detecting.

So i Exit. and Reboot - and back into the Maintenance Tab -

but that seems to not satisfy the Firmware Update Manager.

is there any other place to get a newer file from?

The USB Expert Panel software provides a suite of functions to check and diagnose the USB panels which make up your Avolites console. During normal operation you will not need to use this software but when upgrading software or diagnosing faults it is a very useful tool.

Below you can find a list of panels for your product and the firmware file information that is required to reprogram the panel when carrying out troubleshooting.

The panel firmware can be found in the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Avolites\UsbExpert\Panel Software

I recently received my Fanateec order (DD2 base, F1 and WRC wheels, inverted V3 pedals, gear shift lever, and handbrake). After hours of testing and research, I'm still having a major issue with the Fanatec Control Panel and the Firmware Manager.

Firstly I connected everything and installed the latest driver version (452) and attempted to update the various firmwares. Like many people I encountered a problem with the motor firmware version not being compatible with the base version. I followed the described procedure, namely uninstalling the driver, installing version 336, then reinstalling the latest driver and flashing my device again. I tried for hours in every possible way but could never update my motor to the latest version (I could only get motor version 30.0). I did all this with my gaming PC and after hours of struggle, I decided to try connecting my base to my laptop. Magically I managed to update everything (driver version installed on the laptop: 452), and the firmware updater indicates that everything is up to date on my laptop (which doesn't even seem true, as the motor version I currently have is 3.0.0 whereas apparently, there is a 3.0.2 version now). I then reconnected my base to my gaming PC and the control panel indicates that I need to update the firmware. I try to do it but it's impossible.
